Increase the start up speed of Windows XP by removing unwanted programs from start up.

Most of the times we do not want all our programs to be get started while booting up our PC. Some programs like Adobe reader, Ms office etc need not to be get started in start up. This will increase the booting up time. Also will eat a lot of memory as long as we are not using those software.

Below is a step by step procedure to remove unwanted programs from windows start up.

1.  Click "Start" on the lower left hand corner of your computer screen. A window will open, displaying various options.

2.  Select "Run". A small window will open; type "msconfig" (without the quotes) in the white box. Click "OK". The System Configuration Utility window will open.

3. Select the Start up tab. The Start up section will display the applications that automatically start when you turn on your computer and Windows XP loads.

4. Deselect the applications that you wish not to load at start-up.

5. Click OK and restart the PC
